SXSW 2020
Excess: The Untapped Inventory Epidemic
Description:
In a world where sustainability is a major trend, there are still too many companies with excess inventory. Just look at the entertainment industry— roughly 2 million seats stay empty each year on Broadway alone. Then think about the events industry – where do you think the flower arrangements go aside from Instagram? And we’ve all heard about the well-known luxury brand that burned $40 million in unsold products. This is more than a sustainability conversation; this is an untapped inventory conversation, and we need to unravel how to navigate the currency of excess. It’s less about where we put marketing dollars and more about how to use our creative capital to help communities in need. We have a responsibility to be more aware, and I’ll show you how to fill in the gaps consciously.
