SXSW 2020

Unleashing the Exponential Power of Design

Description:

Facing ethical dilemmas is part of being a great designer. Being called upon to make an ethical decision implies that one is in a position of power. As designers and creators, we are in a position to ask certain questions and exclude others, or synthesize a range of voices. We can strive to meet the needs of many or prioritize the needs of the few. Recognizing the power in our decisions and the personal biases that influence them is key to avoiding unintended consequences and creating solutions for social good. Join us in a conversation about the role of design in tackling today’s most daunting and complex challenges, and how infusing diversity in design will lead to solutions that reflect greater empathy, ethics, optimism, and bold ingenuity.
