SXSW 2020

Innovations in Live Performance & Storytelling

Description:

Musicians are increasingly moving beyond traditional concerts and entering the sphere of innovative and interdisciplinary live performances. The creation and production of these shows help artists and musicians expand their creative skill set, enter new markets and access new audiences in complementary live performance spheres. Using the examples of Kid Koala’s Nufonia Must Fall and Richard Reed Parry’s Quiet River of Dust, Montreal-based Envision founder & president Ryhna Thompson along with Hamburg-based Artistic Director of the Kampnagel International Summerfestival will explore how pursuing new types of live performances can take an artist's career to the next level, as well as how to develop such productions.
