SXSW 2024

Branding Movements: Advertising for Impact

Description:

Brands have enormous power and their support of social causes can ignite cultural change. But in the wake of recent controversy, some companies are protecting their brands instead of taking a stand. In this panel, executives join activists to discuss the role of brands and advertising in social justice activism. They’ll share their experience rallying nationwide support for the Abolition Amendment to end the exception in the 13th Amendment that still allows slavery as punishment, and explain why brands and advertisers must use their platforms and talents for good and the right way to do it.
