SXSW 2020

Next Gen AI - The Human Centered Design Challenge

Description:

Recently we’ve seen phenomenal advances in the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and our understanding of its strengths and limitations. Of the many things this first generation of AI has taught us: the next generation of AI must be designed using a human-centered approach, not just built using a computational one. How does an AI earn our trust? What does failure mean for human-AI interactions? How does an AI learn to be smart, fair & transparent? How can we think about personality, emotion & empathy are central to the design of AI? What design principles can we use today? Answering these questions will require new tools and frameworks, a new set of more diverse collaborators, & deep integration of human-centered skills. Join us to discuss how together we shape the future of AI.
