SXSW 2020
Is There an Echo in Here? Building Alexa Skills
Description:
This is a workshop where non-developers can learn about voice applications and actually build one under our guidance. We will discuss best practices for designing Voice User Interfaces (VUI) and go through all the steps of building your own Alexa Skill. It will be very hands-on, allowing attendees to actively participate in coding their application, giving them the chance to customize it outside of the workshop, on their own time. Every person will leave the workshop having built a working Alexa Skill for the Echo voice platform, and with knowledge about how to better design a VUI.
