SXSW 2020
Riding in (Self-Driving) Cars with Candidates
Description:
Research shows that AV deployment could result in $800B/year in economic benefits and job opportunities for up to 2M people previously excluded from the workforce. While positive benefits are expected, questions remain as to how communities and workers can prepare for changes that innovation may bring. PTIO – led by the American Trucking Associations, Daimler, FedEx, Ford, Lyft, Toyota, Uber, UPS, Waymo – is committed to addressing these questions in its mission to advance AV technology in ways that improve quality of life and economic opportunities for all Americans. At SXSW, in the heart of 2020 primary season, PTIO will host experts and lawmakers to answer questions about our AV future, delivered directly from the campaign trail by presidential, congressional and state/local candidates.
