Participatory Budgeting: Real Money, Real Power
Our democracy is in crisis, and young people are looking for opportunities to use their voices in meaningful ways. Participatory budgeting (PB), which gives students real decision-making power over part of the school budget, has proven to be exactly this kind of transformative process in schools. In this experiential workshop, we’ll actually experience a school PB process, share lessons learned from the past decade, and delve into how you can launch PB in your school/district.
