SXSW 2020
Organize for Power in Your Workplace
Description:
When workers organize, they can drive social change in their workplace and beyond. In 2018 workers at Google organized and staged the Google Walkout For Real Change, winning major concessions from management and representation on the board. Tech workers are also leading the outcry against companies like Salesforce, Amazon and Wayfair doing business with police and ICE. YOU can build worker power at your workplace too. This workshop will introduce strategies for worker organizing, what rights and responsibilities you have as tech workers, and how to run a successful campaign within your company and beyond.
