SXSW 2020
SuperSight: living in a mixed reality world
Description:
Digital technology is rapidly changing the way we perceive reality. Augmented and virtual reality, combined with machine vision and real-time deep learning systems, are allowing us to insert digital information directly into our sensorium. Sometimes this means enhancing our perceptions, other times it will alter or obscure it entirely. In this panel, we will discuss the societal and cultural impacts of a world where reality might be richer, more subjective, and maybe not even shared. The panel will take a look at the pro & cons of the layered realities that we are wrapping ourselves in today, and in the future.
