Hear, Hear! The Changing Role of Student Activism
Description:
The terms “free speech” and “campus activism” are synonymous with higher education in the 60’s and 70’s. However, with recent movements like Black Lives Matter and #MeToo – today’s students are more active and civically engaged. How can campus leaders ensure students’ rights to free speech and expression are protected, encourage students to exercise these rights, promote thoughtful discourse when issues involve differences between student and campus leaders and foster a learning experience?
