SXSW 2019
Reinventing Community Based Media Centers
Description:
There are over a thousand community media networks across the country - from Maine to Maui. We'll look at the renaissance of local media education and production taking place across the country that is inspiring and pushes the envelope for what local media can be and how it is experienced. Can community media be an antidote for "information deserts"? How can Virtual Reality and other extended reality media be applied in community settings? How can these centers build media diversity?
