SXSW EDU 2019

Tagteam: Nonprofit, BPL Schools, the Whole Learner

Description:

Marginalized learners need more, not less. Here are two innovative programs that work together to build on the success of their learners, extend the school day, and rely on a blend of education and community focus to support learners and their families. Wayfinders, a nonprofit after-school mentorship and advocacy program, has teamed up with two Big Picture Schools in Winnipeg to provide a unique, educative, and wholistic support system for learners in a specific neighbourhood.
