SXSW 2019
Health Care: Meet the American Dream
Description:
I will present the Dream Plan, my concept for transforming the American health care system based on the principles of the American Dream. Instead of paying third parties, like insurance companies and the government, Americans would contribute money into individual investment accounts (called Longitudinal Health Care Plans or LHCPs) to fund their health care expenses over the course of their lives. Data from a genetic analysis, behavioral attributes and socio-economic factors would be collected to predict an individual's health care conditions. An investment strategy would be developed to ensure that individuals save for their care needs. Those who cannot afford an LHCP would default into a public health program. Everyone would have health coverage in the Dream Plan.
