SXSW 2019

The Future of Health IoT: Connected Communities

Description:

We all know a loved one whose health is starting to deteriorate. Maybe they're becoming forgetful, losing their strength, and no longer being able to take care of themselves as well as they used to. On a cold winter night, my friend's grandmother, turned on her stove to keep herself warm. That accidental use of the stove led to carbon monoxide poisoning and a trip to the hospital. All of that could have been prevented. What if she had a smart stove that only turns on with the right parameters: weight of a pot, human detection...etc. What if she lived in a smart community that would enrich her life using 3 methods: 1. human-centered technology 2. seamless design 3. collaborative AI
