SXSW 2019
Life on the Platform: Opportunity for Better
Description:
Everyone is talking about platforms these days, however, we’ve only just begun to realize the true power of the platform. The great, untapped potential is in using these powerful structures to connect, learn, and mobilize individuals and organizations around narratives that matter. Focusing on this space has the potential to disrupt even established platform players. These new generations of platforms will also likely evolve very different business models from the ones that govern platforms today. This session will explore why these new generations of platforms are so potentially valuable, why they’ve been largely overlooked to date, and what will likely be required for them to reach a critical mass of participants.
