Beyond Academics: Realities for Today’s Students

Description:

Give a student sound academic advice, and they’ll graduate: problem solved. Not so fast. New research suggests that non-academic issues–mental health, family, financial and career stress–may in fact be the greatest barriers to completion, raising important questions about how to effectively support today’s students. As postsecondary leaders race to pinpoint the barriers to student engagement and completion, could the answers be hiding in plain sight beyond the classroom walls?
