SXSW 2019

Cities Worldwide Catalyzing Mobility Services

Description:

We believe in the future of cities. By 2050, 66% of the world are expected to live in one. The very vitality of cities as centers of economic development, livability, culture and other innovations is being threatened and disparities between “haves” and “have nots” is growing. Cities from Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam to London and Los Angeles are starting to demonstrate ways to cleaner, safer, cheaper, faster mobility. By 2025, Helsinki aims to remove the need for car ownership. How? A mobility operating system, combining private ride-sharing and public transport, both electric and driverless, to deliver rides optimized for users’ real-time needs and traffic. With so many intermodal options, technology offers more sustainable, accessible, and equitable transportation for improved city-living.
