How 5 Months on the PCT Made Me Better at My Job

Square Root has been recognized as one of the best companies to work for in the U.S. for multiple years running, with perks and policies that attract top talent from all over the country. One such policy? Unlimited time off. In 2016, COO Elizabeth Schwartz, took a 5-month sabbatical to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. She learned invaluable lessons about herself and the business along the trail, and brought some lessons back into the Square Root culture -- transforming the business long-term.
