SXSW 2018

An Oral History of the Rebirth of the Cocktail

Nearly 20 years ago, it was hard to find a well-mixed cocktail anywhere in the U.S. It sounds ludicrous but there’s no underestimating how far we’ve come in terms of drinking culture and knowledge. It’s routine for bars from NY to Milwaukee to Tulsa to SF to use fresh fruit juice, homemade syrups and top-shelf spirits for classics and modern concoctions. Meet people directly responsible for the rebirth of the cocktail and breakdown just how they did it.
