Spoonful of Sugar: Is Celebrity Culture Positive?

Beyonce, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian all have all come out either as feminists or in support of Black Lives Matter, or both. Why do celebrities need activism and why do activists need celebrities? Can celebrity culture really be used for good? This panel will explore the role (both positive and negative) that celebrity culture has had on societal change and social movements.
