Dashboards: aligning educators and developers

Many current data dashboards have failed to adequately address teacher needs and gain widespread use in the classroom. As a followup to our in-depth brainstorming session with teachers and Edtech providers at SxSW last year, we are collaboratively publishing the results of the brainstorming in a whitepaper. The whitepaper offers a framework for linking the diverse needs of teachers to the many design consideration of dashboards, and thus can help foster more productive dialogues between educators and dashboard designers. We will present key points from the whitepaper, and will also share how the whitepaper has been incorporated into our plans for improving our own dashboards.
