This session will give people the tools and skills to create their own internet connected device.
We'll cover the basics of what tools are out there to get started (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Particle, Onion), and what you need to make use of them.
We'll then create a project that everyone will complete by the end of the session, a pokemon that shoots water from it's snout when you get an email. Everyone's project will hook up with IFTTT so they can use any internet trigger to activate their device.
All participants will get their own Particle Photon to keep in order build their device, along with the components necessary for the project.
- What tools are available for building DIY connected hardware?
- How does a physical device connect to the Internet?
- How do I construct a connected device?
