Is Jazz School The Next Innovation Incubator?
As we collaborate with Berklee College of Music students and co-teach courses, we are struck by how much musicians and designers think alike. At IDEO we call our approach design thinking. Berklee doesn’t have a name for their mindset yet (“jazz thinking” or “music thinking” come to mind) but the similarities between the two have led us to believe there are fundamental entrepreneurial traits in the professional creative process. We'll talk about the similarities and differences between these creative professions and how they apply to today's innovation practices.
