Drop It Like It’s Hot: Delivery in a Digital Age

When you want something ASAP, how often do you stop and think about how it will get to a store shelf or your doorstep? The stuff we buy travels on boats, trains, trucks, and planes to get to us, but it’s often the last mile of a delivery that is the most complicated. What’s the answer – bicycles, skateboards, drones, dedicated delivery lanes, time-shifting, gondolas? The very last leg of a delivery is even more difficult in congested cities. As online shopping and the demand for fast delivery increases, creative solutions are needed to get things to stores and doorsteps quickly. This panel investigates innovative ways to get packages to their final destinations.
