How To Create An Afterlife For Consumer Products
Is there such thing as an afterlife for the products we love? Why is it that once we buy a nice purse or a bottle of expensive wine that these products become "disconnected". Their manufacturers do not know when they have been used, resold, or thrown away. With the advent of the IoT, consumer products are becoming more like people and experiences. In this workshop, you will learn how to create products that "speak" to the consumer, revealing information like warranty status, expiry dates, and authenticity. This workshop will be hands-on, starting with a brainstorming session, a design tutorial, and technical skillbuilding: using NFC/RFID, BLE, and Microservice architectures.
