Improving Healthcare (and Dayton) by Design

It was at a leadership retreat in 2014 that members of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA) took a hard look at their situation as the largest employer in town and said that’s something we want to change. Once a major industrial powerhouse, Dayton was in flux due to manufacturing downturns. Betting on its roots in innovation, nationally recognized healthcare systems, its location as home to the Air Force Research Lab, plus, connections with design consultancy Kaleidoscope, the team crafted a bold idea. In this talk we'll share how Ascend was born as a for-profit way to commercialize #healthinnovationnnovation, plus opportunities in patient care & medical device design.
