How Digital Can Solve Racial Disparity
We need to trust more. Everyday we make thousands of micro-judgements: Should I let this person walk my dog? Does this person know how to fix my car? All our interactions and transactions, are based on trust. We’ve relied on intuition and mental shortcuts to make the right call, but these judgements are imprecise and filled with bias. Information technology gives us the opportunity to trust more completely. We can make our purchasing decisions and, more importantly, hiring decisions on merit and contribution, not your race or who you know. We now have the power to build marketplaces based on trust and inclusion. This is the path towards solving racial disparity.
