Learning for the Job
Changing roles at a company often involves a self-directed learning process. At Airbnb, it’s common for people to teach themselves new things and move into different roles. We’ve even recently had our first-ever move into the engineering department (from Finance) by a self-taught programmer.
The other speaker, Zane, has spent the last 10 years researching effective learning strategies and writing to help people make transitions just like these. Trying to self-manage a learning curriculum which will set you up for success in a new role can be a full-time task. This session will cover how to set up your own growth plan, find and evaluate learning resources, and ultimately land your new job.
