SXSW Interactive 2016

Building the Urban Tech Ecosystem

It is a panel discussion where the leaders of Co Found Harlem, Year of the Black Woman, Black Founders and Black Women in Tech LA talk about the work they are doing to develop a a tech eco system within their respective cities.
Our goal is to provide a counter narrative to the "there are no good minorities in tech," which seems to be implied in the poor recruitment figures by big tech firms in Silicon Valley.
This session provides techies of color and allies like Andrew Resiej, Chair of New York Tech Meet Up and Alexis Ohanian, CEO of Reddit a space to hear the work that is being done across the nation to identify, mentor and support high potential technologists of color.
