How to Build a Niche Social Media Site

Crowdsourcing is one of the most misunderstood aspects of promotion in the era of new media. Whether you have a project or yourself (your brand) it needs constant exposure. Furthermore, that project or brand needs to cultivate a community following in order to be successful. But, when you’re online, how do you rise above the noise? For many using social media, the belief is “He who shouts loudest wins” or “if you build it, they will come”. These are proven recipes for failure that revolve around bluster and ego. It’s about broadcasting only, instead of broadcasting, engagement, and bonding.

We will go over how to build a niche social media site (or presence) through crowdsourcing for a project or a brand. We will touch on the “do’s” & “don’ts” of creating an online community people will come to on a daily basis and call “home”. We will go over not only the cultivation of the idea, but also the technical tips on how to best program your social media site for your audience.
