Movies and Music: Always Online Entertainment

A recent survey from Harris Interactive found that 53 percent of all Americans viewed digitally streaming content on an internet-enabled device. With that percentage growing daily, it’s imperative that technology companies stay on top of their game when it comes to keeping streamed content online. This panel of experts, comprised of a variety of engineers who have all worked in the trenches for companies like Rdio, SoundCloud, CloudFlare, Apple and Netflix, will discuss the ins and outs of running a network built to scale for streaming and major releases.
They will discuss how tech companies ensure that big media releases go off smoothly, including: big record releases, anticipated online TV show releases, live events, and more. The scope of the discussion will range from how to design systems that can scale for big events, to war stories about the pitfalls to avoid, to preventing pirates from compromising the integrity of the event.
