Democracy Took Over My Government, Now What?

Join the social engagement gurus who are employed by New York City and the State of Michigan as they share their process of organizing tens of thousands of people in an online conversation that included public debate and resolution to the tune of a 14 billion dollar budget and the suggestions for efficiency of 50,000 state employees.
Although government (American government, in particular) has always espoused the ideals of candor and inclusion as part of democratic process, it has never been more imperative or more possible than in the digital age. It is a built-in expectation capable of generating and maintaining new government revenue streams, changing business, satisfying citizens and looking at democracy as it was intended: by the numbers.
