SXSW 2024

Strategic Stamina: Politics, Sports, and Start-ups Playing t

In today’s fast-paced world, the allure of quick victories often overshadows the value of long-term investment. Our session aims to challenge this perspective by examining three, seemingly unrelated subjects – politics, soccer, and the start-up culture – and highlight the rewards of playing the long game. While national politics tend to dominate the discourse, this session will shed light on how Democrats must look beyond 2024 to achieve long-term political success, drawing comparisons and insights from professional women's soccer and the hyper-competitive start-up culture.
