Beyond Pay: Teacher Housing as Pathway to Sustainability
Description:
Is there a way to help support and retain educators beyond pay increases? We believe so. All too often the conversation stops at pay and benefits. While increased pay is necessary, to make teaching truly more financially viable and to racially diversify our educator workforce, we need to think more broadly, beyond pay. Creative solutions like affordable teacher housing have a role to play in sustainability & wealth creation. This session spotlights projects in Baltimore, Newark, and Tulsa where creative housing solutions for educators have impacted sustainability and community building.
