In recent years, psychedelic treatments have exploded in popularity and interest. Despite the hype, there are numerous unanswered questions and controversies that remain to be addressed, including proper dosing, best routes to establish efficacy, necessity of the subjective psychedelic experience for clinical benefit, mechanism of action, role of psychotherapy in the treatment, optimal methods of preparation and aftercare, and routes to establishing personalized treatment approaches. This panel will provide a state-of-the-art overview of these issues as well as a framework for future progress.
