SXSW 2024

Unpacking Your Creative Brain

Description:

We're thinking about creativity all wrong. Most of us think we're creative or we're not. We make things solely because others will see it. But, in order to create for others - we have to remember that creativity is part of our human DNA. And most importantly, we have to reconnect with our naturally creative brain - consistently, for ourselves - before putting it out in the world.

In this panel, creativity & mental health expert, Katina Bajaj, will share the latest scientific research behind how to harness and cultivate our natural creativity in order to feel our most fulfilled and alive.

Takeaways

  1. Creativity is a habit, not a magical occurrence. It doesn't just fall from the sky; it's a way of seeing the world. It can be strengthened with time.
  2. Not all creativity needs to be judged. In fact, the basis for Big C creativity is when we create for ourselves. The mini, everyday kind.
  3. Creativity is at the basis for happiness, health and fulfillment. It not only helps us make sense of a chaotic world, but feel more alive.
