Description:
This panel brings together human rights activists who have successfully used social media to expose human rights violations, disseminate information to the global community, and gather support. The panel will discuss how social media has helped to foster movements, from the 2019 Hong Kong protests to the 2020 #EndSARS protests in Nigeria and the Iranian revolution unfolding today, and what social media platforms can do to make their spaces a trusted forum for activists.
