True Costs of the Status Quo Public Education in Puerto Rico
Description:
Julia Keleher and Eduardo Bhatia will present two diverse perspectives on the challenges and opportunities for reimagining public education in Puerto Rico. While the two share a common goal of improving the conditions for teaching and learning on the island, they have differing opinions on the root causes of the inequality and how to disrupt the status quo. The pair will share their views on the strengths/weaknesses of Puerto Rico’s Education Reform Bill and Keleher’s successes/failures as Secretary. They discuss lessons learned and offer new ideas for leading change in complex environments.
