SXSW 2023
What Big Pharma Can Learn From Biohacking
Description:
Until now, technology has been the main catalyst for transformation, but we’re about to embark on the next phase of human development, sparked by the collision of technology and science. The so-called ‘Biotech Revolution’ promises to change the face of humanity, but what happens when the opposing forces of technological innovation, agility and fail-fast iteration meet scientific rigor, process, and due diligence? We’ll be joined by world-renowned biohacker, and punk-rock scientist, Josiah Zayner, who shot to infamy after injecting himself live with DNA encoded with CRISPR gene-editing technology to discover the cues pharma brands can take from biohacking; the notion of democratizing innovation, and normalizing experimentation can equally be applied to marketing as they can science.
