SXSW 2023

Work Hard, Play Hard? Hard Pass: Choose Happiness

Description:

Today’s workforce doesn’t need companies. Companies need the workforce. A new generation is using digital mediums to create the life and work they want, on their terms. They’ve determined they don’t have to enter the traditional workforce if they don’t want to and that the old ways of working didn’t work for them. And if they are getting corporate jobs, they’re not afraid to shake things up, demanding an equitable and flexible workplace for all. Some CEOs, however, are sending mixed messages by promoting unhealthy work habits while claiming to want what’s best for their employees. This session intends to unpack this, giving audiences a well-rounded view of what’s happening now, what companies are doing/not doing to meet these needs, & engaging about the widening gap of expectations.
