Description:
Dubbed the next generation's new love language, memes importance in culture cannot be understated for brands. In this session TBWA Sydney's Senior Strategist, Renata Yannoulis and Strategy Director, Matt Moran will unpack how and why everything in culture today is a meme. Harking back to earlier internet eras, the Renata and Matt will trace the popularisation of short-hand visuals, the rise of remix culture, and the new level of human connection and communication memes offer different online communities. The session will also explore how memes are monetised in the metaverse, and what this means for the future of the meme.
