SXSW 2023
Closing the Gender Gap in Web3
Description:
It's easy to feel like you don't fit in the blockchain-based web3. Whether you're a seasoned programmer or just curious, Web3 may seem intimidating and not always welcoming. This is especially true for women who are often excluded from decision-making about new technologies and their impact on wider society. Since blockchain might underlie new social & financial systems that affect us all, inclusivity is essential. People working in blockchain say: "We're building a new internet, a new world, open, fair, democratic". When it's only men building this, a uniform world results.
Cartesi Foundation & Pulsar analyzed how female & non-binary communities talk online about Web3, NFTs, Crypto, and DAOs: in this session we'll show audiences how to attract a more diverse crowd to this new space.
