SXSW 2022

Money After COVID: Closing the Racial Wealth Gap

Description:

The past eighteen months have exacerbated the inequities that already face Black workers and people of color, particularly those who are gig workers or mixed-earners. Data from the popular app Steady found that half of users who lost more than half of their income were members of the Black and Brown community.

At this panel, join NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, Intuit executive Greg Johnson, and Steady founder Adam Roseman to discuss the urgent imperative to support the workers who are too often locked out of opportunity—as well as new solutions that are helping to close the racial wealth gap.
