SXSW EDU 2022
Student Voice & Transparency in Special Education
Description:
In this workshop, we deep dive the IEP (individual education plan) as it relates to providing special education services throughout the school setting & engaging the whole team in the process. Special education has often been confusing & riddled with negative connotations; we choose to empower students as advocates & highlight strengths so it isn't anymore!
Let's bring transparency to teachers, educate students on their IEPs via student-led IEP meetings, and include parents to make it better.
