Mind the (Language) Gap: Can AI Eliminate Bias?
Description:
We all know stereotypes exist around attributes like skin color, gender, and sexuality. Less commonly addressed is the issue of language bias — there is innate bias in language, in the words we use, and how we use them. While language can be the strongest initial connector and between people, it can also be the biggest divider, so how can we work to break down stereotypes and fix the biases within it? By combining emerging technology and artificial intelligence with real humans and authenticity. Panelists from Unbabel, skritswap, Rosetta Stone, and Grammarly will discuss the ways in which they are each tackling the language barrier problem, and what this means for the way global companies and communities work in the future.
