SXSW 2022
How to (Finally) Move Your Community Off Facebook
Description:
Two media and publishing vets — with similar audiences — will talk about the two very different approaches they chose to move their communities off Facebook to paid subscription memberships and why. Margit Detweiler, who runs the platform TueNight moved her community to the Mighty Networks platform; Nina Collins, founder of The Woolfer, who started her community in 2016 on Facebook, left in 2019 for a customized app powered by Top Fan, and in 2020 sold her business to tech start-up Revel where they are now rebuilding from the ground up.
