SXSW 2021
Impact Teen Emotional Health, Affect The World
Description:
To change society, we must start with the generation that impacts the next decades. There is an emotional health crisis in teens that is amplified by what is going on in the world and has lasting consequences. 27% of young people face anxiety or depressions, and the global burden on healthcare costs is staggering. The tech industry is uniquely positioned to positively impact our tomorrow.
Young people are digital natives, and tech companies exploit it, providing entertainment games or social media tools. But have we really looked at what they need to be happy, connected, and productive? The panel discusses examples of how technology can create lasting change in young lives and help them use digital tools for their personal growth, which is vital in the light of current events.
