SXSW 2020
Courage, Self-Care and Authenticity at Work
Description:
Diversity and inclusion have been expanded beyond representation and equity to include belonging, embracing the idea that people have the highest likelihood of reaching their full potential in an environment where they can bring their whole selves to work. In an era of 24-hour news cycles and social media serving up endless loops of mass shootings, racially motivated violence, and political division, how can organizations embrace the whole person and accommodate their real experiences in the wider world? Taking mental health, privacy and gender identity into consideration, how do you signal allyship and embrace representation without triggering or tokenizing? Panelists will probe how to make intersectionality and showing up as your authentic self available to everyone.
