SXSW 2020
Product Prototyping for the Queer Community
Description:
Have you ever put on a product that has made you feel completely comfortable and confident? Inclusivity and quality stand at the forefront of these queer founders’ mission to serve their people. With the use of alternative materials, multiple rounds of prototyping and listening to their community, learn how these founders use their products to function within fashion. The road to serving the traditionally marginalized doesn’t come easy. Learn how these brands have developed products that disrupt binaries, body shaming and, instead, encourage us to create a new aspirational image—one that stops trying to force all of us into a couple narrow boxes of "attractive" and instead makes room for our unique and diverse best selves.
